Hey Indie Kitties, today's extra special post is part of a pretty cool blog hop!

Thanks Ashe Marshall for tagging me to be a part of this blog hop! I’m SUPER excited to share my latest novel, the second book in The Marked Ones Trilogy, with you all.

In case you didn’t know, THE NEXT BIG THING blog hop, is designed to raise awareness of new works, or works in progress. Basically an author answers a set of questions about their current project and posts it on their blog along with the names and links to the blogs of a few other authors they’re tagging (in my case one, because everyone is/was still gone for the holidays). Then, the following Wednesday, those authors post their answers to the questions along with the authors they are tagging and so on.

What is the working title of your next book?

The Storm Behind Your Eyes

Where did the idea come from for the book?

The Marked Ones Trilogy and my daemons didn’t come from one idea but more so a mash-up of music, strange adventures through Wikipedia and random programs I’ve watched on TV.

Don’t believe me? Here’s how it all came to together: Add Hellenistic Greek Daemons, some program with horned creatures painted on cave walls, a special on cuttle fish and mix it together with the Katy Perry song Waking up in Vegas and you’ll basically have an idea of how this story formed in my head.

But the question was specifically about The Storm Behind Your Eyes, so without giving too much away, the idea came from these five songs and the images they created in my mind.

All For a Woman- Airborne Toxic Event
All I Ever Wanted- Airborne Toxic Event
We Are Young- Fun
Payphone (solo version)- Maroon 5
A Drop in the Ocean- Ron Pope

What genre does your book fall under?

The Marked Ones Trilogy is an urban fantasy action romance for older teens.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I’m constantly changing my mind when it comes to fantasy casting, but here’s my current list for The Marked Ones Trilogy:

Nualla Galathea- Lily Collins

Travis Centrina- Travis was the hardest for me to pin down but my current fav is John Patrick Amedori with Diego Boneta  as a close second.

Nikki Varris- Candice Accola (with a nice a-line bob of course =^.^=)

Patrick Centrina- Eiji Wentz

Shawn Vallen- Alex Pettyfer (in this shot it almost looks like he’s wearing a BaySide Academy uniform doesn’t it?)

Parker- Teresa Palmer. (She’s pretty kick-ass and has the right accent already.)

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Patrick Centrina seems to have it all, but when the secrets of his past come to back haunt him, he may have to face the very real possibility that the biggest threat to his future may, in fact, be himself.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

To avoid a painfully long discussion on the differences between Indie and self-publishing, I’m going to say it’s going to be released by indie publishing company Korat Publishing.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

A few months. I did the first half during NaNoWriMo in 2011 and finished up the rest during my free time these last few months in between getting married and other holiday craziness. TSBYE is now in first drafts edits, you know that stage before it gets sent off to the editor.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Hmmm a hard one. My best answer for this one is The Mortal Instruments series, The Infernal Devices, White Cat, Tithe, Paranormalcy.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

Music, hands down. When I hear music I see stories in my head and weave them into worlds.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

If you want to see a love-triangle that doesn’t involve any of the characters hating each other, this book is for you. If the idea of having your memories messed with or stolen, has you waking up in a cold sweat, this book is for you. If watching characters get dragged through one emotionally disastrous situation after another only to then be doused in coffee, a torrential downpour and possibly die a horrendous death, this book is for you. If you liked Daemons in the Mist, than this book is definitely for you.
